The Roosevelt Intermediate School Student Council donated $500 worth of food to the staff at Overlook Hospital on April 23, as a small token of appreciation for the hard work of local healthcare workers.

Philhower Fellow

Jeanine Gottko, who taught first and fifth grade at Franklin Elementary School in Westfield before working with both students and teachers in the district as a master technology teacher, is the 2020 recipient of the Rotary Club of Westfield’s Philhower Fellowship in recognition of outstanding teaching at the elementary school level.

Incoming 6th Grade Parent Orientation Postponed

The parent orientation for incoming 6th grade students, originally scheduled for Wednesday, April 22 at 7pm, has been postponed. Once a new date for a virtual presentation has been set, it will be posted on the Roosevelt webpage and parents will be notified via email.

A New Franklin Principal

At its public meeting on March 24, 2020, which was held remotely due to COVID-19 restrictions, the Westfield Board of Education unanimously approved the appointment of Dr. Paul Duncan as principal of Franklin Elementary School in Westfield, effective July 1, 2020.
